Joy-Con controllers can be lost by users. The Switch provides a way to locate them quickly and easily. Click on “Controllers” on the homescreen, and then click “Find Controllers”. Although technically the Switch has an online service it’s difficult to play with other friends. But, for other Nintendo games, you’ll need to either download the Switch Online or use your Android or iPhone. When you start a session, you will need it open for all players. Joy-Cons live by their name. I was so happy to find that my Joy-Con/Pro Controller could be connected with an Android device, I couldn’t help but smile. It also works with Macs as well as PCs. But, JoyToKey is required to accurately map the buttons on Windows. They function because Nintendo uses Bluetooth to link them. You can simply hold the small sync key on the controllers’ top for a few seconds to turn on their lights. They will then flash to indicate that they have entered pairing mode. You can now remap any Switch button if the configuration of certain buttons is confusing to you or you simply want to make your Switch work more efficiently. Navigate to System Settings > Controllers, Sensors > Modify Button Mapping. You can make any button a different one. This allows you to swap ZL/ZR or make one of the triggers a jump button. You have the option to swap out the left and/or right control sticks as well as their default orientation.
The Switch OLED is slightly more durable than the original Switch because of its OLED screen. But neither one will last so long that it’s not necessary to change the battery.
